Tea and Buns

Finals are near which means it's time for another LITS study break tea!  And not just tea, but tea and bunnies (yes, bunnies!), books, and buttons.  Visit the library's Stimson Room on level six this Wednesday, May 2 from 4-5 pm.  Featuring baby bunnies courtesy of Biology's Jenny Atkins, a selection of children's books from our circulating and Special collections, the ever-popular button maker and, of course, refreshments.

88th Annual Glascock Poetry Contest

Jorge knows it's time for the 88th Annual Kathryn Irene Glascock '22 Intercollegiate Poetry Contest! 
The two day event will begin on Friday, April 15th with a conversation
with the judges in the Stimson Room (a poet's haven on the 6th floor of Williston Library) at 3:00pm.  The competition will be held that night at 8:00pm in Gamble Auditorium.  On Saturday, April 16th there will be a Judges' Reading and announcement of the winner in the Stimson Room at 10:30am.

Charlotte's Web: An American Epistolary Odyssey in Ras Beirut, 1911-1931




Maria Abunnasr, LITS 2009-2010 Scholar in Residence and UMass Doctoral Candidate, will present a talk with slides about her research on Charlotte Allen Ward (MHC class of 1903) and her family, community, and daily life as an American missionary in the Middle East.
