Art installation - it's up!

Jan 24, 2012 by Mary Stettner

Over the past week, anyone entering the library via the main entrance had the privilege of witnessing the transformation of the courtyard as Professor Rie Hachiyanagi assembled her new installation, Inspirare.  Below are some photos of the now completed - and stunning - work courtesy of the artist.  Come visit the courtyard and experience Inspirare in person!

Comments:

This is literally the coolest art installation I've seen any where. The third to last picture looks really nice and dramatic. Will it be showcased like this for the faculty art show exhibition? It doesn't look as dramatic when there are lights on in the library during week days and nights.

Glad you like Associate Professor of Art Rie Hachiyanagi’s Inspirare, an installation of handmade paper on view in the library atrium as part of the 2012 Studio Art Faculty Exhibition! LITS is working with the artist on Courtyard lighting adjustments that will help showcase the dramatic installation and facilitate other needs for light in that space.

I am so happy with how the installation turned out and I think all the interns did a great job working on it!
