Registering your computer

If you brought a computer to campus, you will need to register it on our network. You can register your computer in your room by opening a web browser to an off-campus
site. Before doing that, please download and install all the updates and patches for your computer. Otherwise, registration will fail. After updating your computer follow the instructions online including, when prompted, uninstalling any virus protection software you may already have on your computer.

Should you encounter any problems registering your computer, please bring your computer to our Information Commons on the 4th floor of Miles Smith (Williston Library).

Wireless expansion into Clapp over Spring Break

Apr 02, 2012 by Tom McAuley

If you have any classes in Clapp, you may have noticed that there is more wireless overage than there was before spring break. That is because during the break LITS installed am additional 20 access points in the building.

In addition to the wireless antennas themselves, the project included the wiring necessary to connect the antennas to the campus network.

LITS is committed to fully covering the campus with wireless access because we realize the importance of it in our daily lives. The reasons there are gaps in coverage remaining has to do with funding and staff resources but we have hopeful that by the end of this coming summer, we will have covered most of the remaining gaps in coverage.
